GN: Day off tomorrow.
BN: I've looked at the weather forecast. Don't think I'll be out on my bike. (Instead, I might actually clean it! :o)

GN: Dimensions are sending me a replacement key to the pattern for my embroidery, to replace the one I binned with the newspaper last week.

BN: They quote 4-6 weeks for the post from the USA.

BN:  Annoyed with my quiz team who overruled me.  I said Jan and Dean.  They all insisted The Beach Boys.  We would have come first equal.  Our tie break answer was far superior, so we would have won.

GN:  I won the raffle.  £25.

No, I didn't share it.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

GN: Slept through the night until the alarm went off at 0529 - first time in three years.

BN: No water coming out of the taps - no shower, no shave, no coffee, fizzy bottled water for teeth cleaning.

BN: Computer wouldn't boot. Emitted unhappy clicks, flashed HDD light and displayed scrolling screen full of error messages.

<scratch head, recall I have Ubuntu onna stick somewhere, plug it in, no joy, start thinking about BIOS settings>

GN: Discover Home key is being held down by a crumb of last night's cheese. Remove crumb and computer boots.

GN: More X-rays and whatnot today - definite signs that my right scaphoid is healing. Extremely grotty cast removed and taken round the back of the bins and shot.
BN: Consultant wasn't happy with me wearing a wrist brace, so I'm casted up for another fortnight.
GN: No tenderness after assorted prodding and poking and the ROM in my wrist hasn't suffered too much - my 'next' cast will apparently be a removable orthoplast job so I'll be able to take it off whilst driving.
BN: Another two sodding weeks with a sodding polyester hand decoration ...

Bah!

Absolutely, although the disappointment was tempered by being told that the fracture will probably resolve itself without surgical intervention (lots of bone callus on the X-ray, which is a good sign)

Still inconvenient though, but having looked out the window just now maybe being off the bike is a small blessing.

GN is the 10 year guarantee
BN is the conditions you need to fulfil to in order to claim

Hurrah: I haz a new "Integrated Network AV Receiver".  Or "amplifier", as we Luddites call it.  And as a bonus it comes with labels for cables

Bah: The Fucking Manual is:
  • 220 pages long, and
  • in PDF format

Do you gronks at Denon have any idea how long it'd take to print that on my cranky old grid of a Canon inkjet ???

Also I'm still waiting for the new loudsqueakers so there's no point in spending a whole day rolling around on the floor with Anbaric String between my teeth only to have to do half of it again when they do :(

GN: I am working from home today
BN: It is because I was up, most of the night, cleaning up TLD's sick. Pasta and chocolate cake make for the most noisome vomit, which is a REAL pain to clean out of carpets...
