Just realised I have forgotten my flight socks.

But do you get the cow-orkers who think "it's a bit cold", so rather than set it 1 degree higher and rely upon the cleverness to sort it out, they crank it up to full because that way it will get warm faster?

And turn the radiator on too.  Leastways that's how it works (FSVO works) here.

Thank you, Defence Intranet Team, for that helpful "how-to" email for something I had  figured out for myself nearly 5 months ago. ::-)

When fitting roller blinds, wouldn't you think it would make sense to have the chain somewhere that can be reached?

No?

How long have you been fitting blinds?

Golden shred. Only two bits of peel? Not good enough. >:(

I'm fed uo with my scalpy flake.  None of the special shampoos work.  :(

Don't use them then. I just use water on my head now and it's a lot better than it used to be.

Ten minutes out in a wheelchair, wearing waterproof jacket + fleece was enough for me to look like a scarecrow with blue and white fingers.

I've got a cold, and it looks like we're a staff member down for tomorrow, when I'm already covering for someone who's having a day off. Joy.

Where in the name of all things bluddy, is my AVO meter?  It's in this house somewhere.  There is no reason I can imagine where I could have taken it somewhere else.
It's got to the point now where I'm looking in underpant drawers, ffs.
I wish I had a garage, 'cos I'd look in there.

Oh god!  I bet that's where it is.  It's in my garage that I haven't got!  Shit - wrong universe.

Thanks, but it's not really very important.  Just need to use it as a continuity tester. There's loads of places I haven't looked yet.  - In the "no idea what that is" drawer of the freezer, behind the bog U bend, for e.g.

You wouldn't think an AVO would be that good at hiding, but the law of tools when you need them applies...

Actually, it isn't a genuine AVO.  I just reverted into the habit of a past life where we tended to use the name "AVO" as a generic term as in "Hoover".

Pity.  If it were a genuine AVO you could at least get some bulldozers in for the "burn the haystack" approach, and be reasonably sure it would still be in working order...

My entry to the BUCS 10 has fallen through the gaps, now I'm not riding.

I was really looking forward to that.  After nearly a decade hanging around this place, it would have been my last chance to represent the university at national level.  It's also on a good course and I was hoping to do quite well - I'm pretty sure I could have got my best placing to date.

At least I hadn't bought train tickets.

Mobile phone :(

The battery has just died (not gone flat - more an impression of a Norwegian Blue). Of course despite having a charger plugged in at the wall without a working battery it still won't tun on :(

Looks like I'll have to hunt out the spare battery when I get home.

Good to see the compulsory shuttlecock, though.
