No women's keirin?
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Barra does point out it's unlikely the medal haul from the track cycling championships will be repeated at the games.

Andy Murray must be in with a shout of a medal too.

It does look rather strongly as if most of our chances are in sports requiring expensive kit.

That might explain why good funding had such an impact?

Apart from the cycling and boxing events there does seem to be a strong bias towards the old hooray henry sports

I would be intresting to see a social demographic break down of the GB squad when it comes to educational and financial backgrounds

It does go to emphasize the joke about the British doing well as sports you can do sitting down ;D
15 out 18 predicted golds (or out of 19 if you allow for Phillips Idowu, who seems to have been forgotten about).

The predictions were all based on the world championship results.

And sailing!

Another much-ignored sport. Brits have been winning medals at this for years and no-one takes a blind bit of notice.

Ben Ainsley, as a friend reliably informs me,  has been a hunk since he started winning world championships at 16. Articulate to boot.

The ynling class crewed by outstandingly skilled blond valkyries young ladies.

What is wrong with this country? We only seem interested in sports if we are truly crap at them (erm, football, crickets . .  )
