Humbled - a little

I persuaded myself that the illness I had suffered at the weekend hadn't quite relented so I wouldn't ride the first of the hill climbs.

I went anyhow with the camera to take photos and have a bit of a blether with the lads.

A couple of guys who knew me turned up - they were bored with running and decided to have a go at TTing. Obviously they didn't want to get any special kit so just came with what they had.

One chap was on his commuter bike, complete with mudguards, granny ring, toeclips and straps on trainers.

The other had rescued his bike from the garden shed - it is almost as old as me. Both gave it a really good effort and posted respectable times (OK, the hybrid was the slowest by a clear minute or so, but he did really well, the chap on the racer posted a time of 8 something - the winner was in 6 something.).

I think they are hooked. ;-)
