Because Olympics, I'm having to retune the Humax AGAIN, if I want to retain BBC4 HD.  Which means noting all my series recordings down and then searching for the programmes AGAIN after the retune, plus deleting all the dross one channel at a time AGAIN.  >:(  I just hope they leave it wherever they're moving it to after the games, and don't revert and demand another bloody retune.
Too late for us - it did the retune y'day and, as you say, lost the schedule of recordings, grr.
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

Yep, BTDT.  And then there's the one by one deletion of some 120 unwanted channels - which takes some 10 clicks and button presses on the remote per channel.

That TV's Sarah Keith-Lucas is a pretty enough gel but I put it to you, Ms Keith-Lucas, that what we drove through around Northampton yesterday evening was a little bit more than "a shower".

Boy wanted chips for lunch. Alright then. I didn't want to go to the chip shop so put the oven on for some oven chips. It heated up, I opened the door, put in a tray of chips to cook, shut the door and... all the electricity went off. RCD. So I reset it (are you supposed to do that? Well, I did anyway) and everything seemed to be fine. Go to check on the chips and... the fan is whirring, the lights are indicating their stuff but the oven is just above room temperature. Everything else is working properly so must be a burn out element that tripped the RCD. So, who's up for soggy, raw chips?

Whilst having a shower I managed to knock a pump dispenser of orange Swarfega off the bathroom windowsill & onto my tiled white floor...

Of course the bottle split & gritty orange gunk went everywhere.  It looks like I've murdered something alien !

I routinely decant my Sainsbury's washing-up liquid into a pump dispenser. It's gone so gloopy now that it wouldn't spill but still makes it out of the pump.

It would have been better if I hadn't left the plan tube on the dining room table. Now tapping my foot at airport dropoff waiting for a taxi to arrive while calculating the latest that I can board.

So as my hip has flared up again I contacted the hospital to get an appointment with the consultant who treated me in 2012-2014. Unfortunately the open appointment I had expired after 6 months so I now have to go back to the GP and get a new referral.

Sympathies Matthew, I was promised "come back whenever you like" by the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital for my shoulder or related ortho issues cos they had a "baseline" of my normal but NHS bureaucracy meant that when I tried to use it, the appointment didn't exist. I do remember the days of "lurking on specialists' lists".

I've got a wonderful GP who keeps my referrals with the same people where possible and if needed does a "Dear Mr X" referral rather than choose and book so we can say what's wrong and what we need and she can remind Mr X's team that they saw me Y years ago and I am one of their "interesting" patients :)

So far I've only needed one referral per specialist: it seems that once they have you on their books you can call up whenever you like. Which reminds me that I'm overdue for my annual retinal exam. Bugger. I've had a bellyful of waiting-rooms and hospital pong this year, don't need more.

Went out for an early morning pre work ride today.... only 14 muddy miles (the roads around Stafford are in a right state at the moment!) but it was worth doing just to keep my legs moving.

Anyway, thereafter I had to pop into Tescos to do our normal weekly shop still in my cycling kit. So, what comment did I get from the checkout person: a person who has been serving me for years (There are two workers who do the early morning tills so I know them after all these years).....was it:

"Nice legs. Excellent sun tan"..... nope but

Looks like I will need a new supermarket.  ::-)

Its quite funny you say that as.... I am the person who listens to calls to monitor quality (not for a supermarket thankfully).

Dear neighbour,

Thanks for choosing to chainsaw your wood pile in your garage, the one with the open front that faces directly at me.  I see how the alternative of doing it inside your own high walled garden would be inappropriate.  This way I get to enjoy all the noise and fumes rather than your household.  How thoughtful, how neighbourly.
