There at last!

Phew.

The unusually-monickered Brian 'Dolphin' Taylor wielded the sticks for TRB on Power In The Darkness, SLF for Now Then, and Spear of Destiny for World Service, among many others in his brilliant career.

Not sure who that passes to, really.  I suppose whoever's fastest to come up with a question out of those who got the various parts - Deano, Pingu & MSeries.

Have I told you my Kirk Brandon anecdote, btw? ;D

Take it away, Dolphin

Coming to this a bit late, but it's from "Right on Sister" from the "Rising Free" EP (remember those?).

And did you know that the ever lovely Mr. Robinson has Power in The Darkness and TRB2 and other goodies available as free downloads from his website?

Thanks.  I've got it on cassette in a box somewhere, so I couldn't check.

And thank you for the latter bit of information.  What a generous and wonderful person that Mr Robinson is (even if he can't actually sing ;) ).  I shall be downloading when I get home...

OK, in the absence of anyone else, I have a slightly different one for you:

Where does Judy find Billy?

I might accept a metaphorical answer. ;)

Damn!  That's fast! ;D

Yes.  I'd also have accepted 'Rat Trap'.

It was an earworm on the way into work this morning.  I composed a much more complicated question about couples in rock songs, but best to keep it simple.

Over to you.

No idea why I knew that.  Not an artist I like, personally.

Bother!  Need to think of another question now.  Gissa minute.

Initially? So they changed their name to something else?

Yes.  In that sense.  I did fear the crossworders would be looking for an acronym.  It's not.  It's the original name for an unusually-named band.

Elbow/Mr Soft?

Correct.  They were just Soft for a while.  And even that's a better band name than 'Elbow', but I can forgive Guy Garvey most things.

The award mention was alluding to their previous win of the Mercury Prize, and, although they were shortlisted for this year's, they were beaten to being the first double winners by the unique and incredible PJ Harvey.

Off you go, Paul :)

Sorry for the delay.

What links Abbey Road, Blonde on Blonde and Blood and Chocolate?

I think Abbey Road was initially going to be called something like Everest.  Perhaps all three had last minute name changes?

It was, I confess, rather a wild guess.

Blood & Chocolate was, IIRC, the last album before the split with the Attractions.  Was Blonde on Blonde the last Bob made with previous musicians before recruiting The Band.  And, er, Abbey Road doesn't fit that at all...

Forget I said anything :-[

Well, I don't know Chocolate, but Blonde On Blonde and Abbey Road both have songs called I Want You, so I'm guessing it's that.

Edit: Reading the question properly doesn't help - I don't know Blood & Chocolate either, but Clarion's ref to the Attractions suggests Elvis Costello, right? Hmm, still doesn't help - not a big fan. Sorry.

Blonde on Blonde did a cover of Eleanor Rigby
I think Abbey Road was a Beatles LP and they did Eleanor Rigby
