Hurrah!  I would never have got it without the clue - I thought The Hollies packed up much earlier than '69.

Right -

Which act has has the most UK top ten hits without a number one?

Outsold the Beatles and the Stones in 1969... never would have guessed.

The Hollies had MASSIVE sales that year in Australia & the Far East & did good in the States too

They're still going.  Without ever having a break.

Shows how much I know.  A bit of gooogling tells me that Graham Nash left in '68, which is what I'm probably thinking about.

Not Gerry & the Pacemakers.

ETA: Gerry & the Pacemakers had three number one hits, How Do You Do It?, I Like It and (of course) You'll Never Walk Alone, all in 1963.

Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi is correct.  19 top ten hits :o

I thought it was The Who, but I was probably thinking of the best band never to have a UK number one.  Bon Jovi certainly wouldn't fit into that category.

:o +1

At least the British public were sensible enough never to send them to number one.  But the most recent one was 2006!  I thought they'd sloped off and died long ago.

That was a flukey guess.I would not have guessed at so many chart hits though :o

I wasn't expecting to be right so don't have a question ready.I can take a rain cheque on my go if someone has a question ready right now.
Anyone?

Kiki Dee sold a surprising number of records in the States (she was on Motown IIRC), but I guess it won't be her
