Cassette tapes?

Inflammable Material was sold on a tape packaged to look like a bomb

Michelle Shocked's first release was the Texas Campfire Tapes, self-rcorded on a walkman

Bow Wow Wow sang C30, C60, C90, Go! about the joys of home taping.

Then are we looking at songs with numbers, in which case, I'd have to suggest Gate 49 or 78RPM by SLF?

EDIT: Hold on, didn't Ms Shocked do a song called 45RPM?  But that's mixing records  tapes ???

EDIT 2: I think the single of C30 C60 C90 Go! had a blank B-side (see Joe Jackson upthread).  That Malcolm McLaren was such a wacky fun japester (or something.  Most likely something, now I think about it).  Maybe there are other ones.  But the only Shocked single I can even think of is Anchorage, and I know nothing about the record itself.  As for SLF, I wouldn't be surprised if Rough Trade cocked up and issued a single with a blank B-side by mistake.

Where have we got?   I'm not sure what the answer was. :-[

Nevertheless, here's a quickie.

Johnny Was, Riverboat Song, Know Your Enemy (initially).

Yes, but what's the connection, other than a lot of letters? ;D

Just for starters... ;)

Actually, since this quickie hasn't worked out that way, I'd better ask hatler to give us a question, as I'm going to be offline for a couple of days.

Theme tunes?

Riverboat Song by Ocean Colour Scene was the theme to TFI Friday.  I've no idea if the others were theme tunes, mind (and I was thinking of Know Your Enemy by Rage Against the Machine, rather than "GD").

The film Johnny Was was filmed partly in Belfast and Stiff Little Fingers sang Bob Marley's Johnny Was and they are from Belfast. DOn't think Green Day are from Belfast, is Florence Machine ?

OK. Which US band had five top three hits in a row in the US but never hit the top spot there, though they did make No 1 in the UK with one single ?

Hi - I'm having a Beach Boys phase myself at the mo and ISTR a time when the fab four and the almost as fab five (Love, Wilson x2, Jardine and ... who was the other one) were in and out of the top spots. But I'd have to Google for the chart - facts. From memory though, I think Good Vibrations was a no. 1 for several weeks here and that Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Barbara Ann, God only Knows and who knows what else were kept off the top over there by the Beatles. But I might have dreamt it all.

Hope it wasn't the Monkees then. But this is really guessing. Someone with the facts should be along in a minute.
