Switch - pretty dire rom com with Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman. Surprised we persisted with it till the end, says more for our laziness and thinking its got to get better than the quality of the film. If this pops up on your recommendations, give it a miss.

Military Wives Think Brassed Off but women and army rather than miners and mines.

I enjoyed it, Mrs T said "well that was really emotional"

Terminator 2.  What an epic.
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

That was a great film. We've never seen it before and it has been on my list for a long time. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Bicycle thieves.

Sorry, no.

Waited years to watch this, and was accordingly disappointed. Should have waited longer.

J, I think I mentioned this a couple of months ago but it might have been somewhere else.  Glad you think it as good as I do!  Wirh direction and photography like that, you don't need a plot.  And the child actor was terrific.  I think it's practically all he did.  Phillipe Noiret was his usual brilliant self, n'est-ce pas?

I'm not sure what you were expecting, but it's a truly great film, in my opinion.

The Men Who Stare At Goats.

Nothing on broadcast telly, this was suggested. My initial reaction was 'surely there must be something else?'. In the end we watched it and it was fun, I thoroughly enjoyed it.,

Parasite

Brilliant, different. It's at least 3 films rolled into one, and it works. A major plus is the way that the central character is a (very nice) piece of architecture.

Oh no, another Liam Neeson revenge movie?. Well, sorta. Super dark humour and quite entertaining.

Wonder Woman 1984

Not quite as good as some of the other DC Extended Universe films, but certainly good escapism with a moderately original variation on the "crazy nutter taking over the world" concept.

I still don't understand why this Wonder Woman speaks English with an accent, but is apparently fluent in any language that she needs. ::-)

I could see why it has a high rating, but for me it meandered too much, didn't develop the characters and ended flatly. Maybe I shall have to watch it again.

Quite enjoyed this, it certainly was beautifully filmed and the two main protagonists developed as the film progressed. There isn't much of a story to it, but it engaged.

Sheila Hancock did actually climb the mountain, which is more than I have. It's on my list of things to do before I am 84...

Escape from Pretoria - Excellent prison escape story in South Africa by anti-apartheid protestors. (leaflet bombers).  I'm not a fan of Daniel Radcliffe but he was very good in this.  A super tense story. Free on Prime and highly recommended.

Edited on further reflection

People, Places, Things - Australian independent comedy about a graphic novellist who gets divorced and coping with his ex and his daughters. Very good.  Netflix.

Yea and verily, it was indeed a tedious bucket of wank.  Miss von Brandenburg insisted on dragging me to the cinema to see it.  Money back please.

Honestly, I think it might still be playing. Did it end, or did people just give up and go home?

Last weekend, on a return to form, we had Ice Sharks. Sharks that could cut through arctic ice with their fins, plunging our plucky team of polar researchers into the chilly depths...

Very good stuff. Not sure we'll top it this weekend, but I've started drinking just in case.

A Sunday in Hull Hell (not  for the first time).  It's a Danish documentary about Paris-Roubaix in 1976.  The music is terrific and mostly the photography does all the story-telling.  It's from the era when all the top riders still did many of the classics.  Now the Tour de France and teams' approach  to the season has scotched all that.  God, those blokes were hard; Merckx, de Vlaeminck, Moser, Maertens, Godefroot..... .  Please watch it, it's terrific as a film, never mind the cycling.  And it might re-vitalise those of you who are losing your mojo - just the fantastic idea of being on a bike!

I quite liked Blade Runner 2049, enough to watch it twice.

But, I suspect I gave it some leeway for my love of the first film and, more importantly, the book.

The real film was the reason we "watched" it right through.

Never understood why Ridley Scott called the androids replicants.  Maybe because the Star Wars wankers had used the term for robots.
