I am thinking of riding this too.

Can anyone provide a bit more information about facilities at the start and end plus details of the controls - the description on the AUK page is a little bit scanty.

It's a great route, one of my favourites.  Start is from the Chepstow Castle car park, there are toilets there and they are usually (but not always) open by the depart time.  First control is at Ross on Wye, it's been a cafe in the past but it's not been consistent due to closures and changing hands but there's plenty of places to get a receipt (we used the Wetherspoons last year).  Next control is at the half way point at Croft Castle and uses the National Trust cafe.  Third control is the pub in Grosmont and it's usually only drinks and crisps/nuts available here (I've stopped at the store in Weobley before now and put some food in my saddlebag to consume at Grosmont).  Final section is the toughest culminating in the climb up Star Hill before the fast descent from Devauden into Chepstow.

Thanks JonB.

It does sound like a great route  :)

It's the last route created by the late Nik Peregrine, and now run by Jen, his widow.  The finish will probably make use of the Three Tuns right beside the castle car park.

It's a fantastic route, I've ridden it 4 or 5 times.
It used to be 3AAA but last year was 2.5AAA.
I've not ridden a 200 since an accident in May and this might be a bit too hard for my current state of unfitness....I'll asses the sitch nearer the time.

Hi there. Can anyone recommend a gps route for this ride? There are a few to choose from on ridewithgps but the event page doesn't have a routesheet to compare them against.

Here is my route from the last few times I've ridden this:  https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31191440
I've not seen any information since entering, so assume it is the same route as usual

@MCroxford there are some details on FB about control changes which are now on the ACB WhatsApp page.

I ‘think’ the route is the same. There is now a TCX as well, but I don’t know how to put it up here.

Thank you MCroxford,

Jennifer sent me the tcx & it looks largely the same as your route. I've uploaded it to Garmin Connect for my own use but made it public in case anyone else would benefit:

P.S. @HeltorChasca, where is this FB page? The one linked on the event page only seems relevant to the Chepstow/Tintern Cycle Path...
