Title: Badger calls for TdF to be cancelled

TBH, I thought it was already cancelled, given the restrictions currently being implemented in France

I cant see any GTs happening this year.

Who would want to organise one in the full knowledge that even if restrictions were lifted, they could be reapplied.

Ain't going to happen.

Hinault didn't actually call for it to be cancelled.

COVID-19 will still be out there come August, that much is certain. And it will still be out there next July, too. These measures aren't a cure for the disease - nor are they a vaccination against future outbreaks, all they do is slow the steady march of the coronavirus through an almost fully susceptible population.

With so much uncertainty for the foreseeable future, pro cycling needs flexibility, creativity and experimentation - not hard-headedness and a white-knuckled grasp on tradition.

If it does go ahead, it'll be a very strange Tour.

Assuming I'm still alive at the end of August, I will definitely not give a shit.
