Wasn't sure which category to put this in as it's not really OT but not typical bicycle maintenance either. My bike fell the other day and the saddle happened to land on the corner of a sheet of mdf, chiselling a flap into the leather. It's near the nose and won't affect function and it'd be nice if there's a way to permanently glue it down such that after a bit of proofide it won't be visible. A search for leather glue brings up loads of products and perhaps any of them would do... but perhaps also there are some tips for an optimal result? Maybe I ought to try remove the oil from the area as much as possible with a solvent... I'm also concerned that the glue ought to be genuinely permanent, as re-gluing over previous glue would likely result in a bit of a mess.
Tips please!
