Steve Jobs was a complete bastard.

That goes for all of the Silicon Valley tech douche-bros, TBH.

The Titanic never sank.

The ship which lies at the bottom of the Atlantic is in fact the Olympic.

All explained here and quite indisputable.

I beg to differ - there's plenty of evidence for why Gardiner's conspiracy theory is eminently disputable.

Imagine by john Lennon is pure schoolboy drivel
It's not in the spirit of the thread I know, but I wholeheartedly agree with this.  Maudlin drivel at that.

Emissions test like the ones VW were found to be cheating on will always be gamed by the car manufacturers, as they are the targets rather than real world which isn't quantifiable.

If real-world results are much worse, that means that the tests are badly designed, not that anyone was cheating.

The tests have been getting more and more stringent over the years, which has driven down real-world emissions by lots, even if it's not quite as much as the test levels might imply.

Charles Dickens wrote boring, depressing books and gave his characters extremely silly names.

I agree wholeheartedly about Steve Jobs (epic bastard), Dr Who (dull, overrated), anything by fucking Tolkein (overly-long, wanky, boring, overrated, pretentious)...

I don't like Terry Pratchett's writing although I do like some of his ideas (camera imps, luggages). Some of the good film adaptations have been good.
