I need to save the pennies for some ND filters for my Hitech filter system...
Or get a bit of welding glass for £1.50
https://www.diyphotography.net/use-welding-glass-as-10-stops-nd-filter/

Certainly worth a bash for a few quid.  Then epoxy it to a large stepping ring? http://www.thephotoforum.com/threads/how-to-diy-10-stop-nd-filter-with-welding-glass-under-20.361479/

I wonder how good the SRB ND1000 filters are for around £35 (for a cokin P holder?)

Always shoot RAW and take a test shot with a white-balance card in case you need to correct any colour-cast.  It's lack of colour-cast that seems to justify high priced ND filters.  Even so it's worth shooting a white-balance test shot.
Some people say I'm self-obsessed but that's enough about them.

Went out today to try some macros with canon 18-55mm kit lens & extension tubes. Every sodding image turned out soft.  Perhaps a tripod should have been used as well.....

A post post work trip down to North Queensferry, to take an arty shot of Kevin:

And the old dear:

Shame about the green splotch of lens flare from the moon.  Why can't Canon include a lens hood with the Canon 10-18mm lens?  >:(

Boxing day TT. This year I thought I'd use the monster zoom. Perfect weather for it.

Winchester.  Road-testing my "new" 2005 Canon 5D & 40mm f/2.8 combination.

The 40mm (which I bought from this forum at a great price) never made sense on my crop-sensor but, on the full-frame, it's an almost perfect "walk-about" lens that gives a very natural POV.
I'm very pleased with the results, tack-sharp.

Feeling somewhat vindicated after seeing Kai's latest video, extolling the virtues of the Canon 40mm on a 5D (albeit a 5D Mk4 £3,000 more than my "Classic")

Rahela.  The proprietor of the a local Indian restaurant.

I was taking a few shots to reflect the state of the high-street (betting shops, phone shops, charity shops and Pound shops) and saw Rahela cleaning.  The Shahi Raj seems to be ever-present as shops come and go.

Canon 5D. Canon 40mm f/2.8 'pancake'.  ISO 100  f5.0  1/60th.

A bit of Mother's Day product photography (There's a very brief window of opportunity to take photos of unopened bottles of Prosecco in our house)

Quick snap on the way back from the dentist. Edit in lightroom on the phone to boost the shadows.

Missed a trick here with the text in the shadows. I need to get up high and look vertically down about an hour later in the day.

Not been out with my camera today but I was out with it 33 years ago apparently.

Just had a recently-found roll of HP5 developed by Harmann Labs (formerly Ilford) and scanned.  This is the christening of our friend's son.  The son is now 33.

There were about 10 usable images from 36 but that's not so bad for a roll of film that has spent a third of a century in a warm house.

I'm currently taking pictures on XP2 using my Ebay Balda-matic 35mm.

Wow Lee you photographed Tom Selleck's kids christening !
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.
