A good write up of the documentary featuring the work of Don McCullin that is currently on release.  Hoping to see this one night next week.

Just back from seeing this at Fact in Liverpool.  Very powerful stuff, a potted history of some of the nastier parts of the post war period.   Interviews with McCullin and his editor at the Sunday Times are intercut with film and stills of the conflicts he covered.  Some of the footage is utterly horrific, executions and piles of bodies.   Good pictures as well of people relaxing and playing in the UK, as well as pictures of dereliction and homelessness in London.

Well worth seeing if it's on near you.

Tim Page is also interesting; the stereotypical dope-smoking Vietnam war photographer.  Dennis Hopper's character in Apocalypse Now was apparently based on him.  He was critically injured about three times, and used Leicas solely because "you can chuck it in mud and it'll still work".
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.
