It's a reference to my PBP hi-vis - in tribute to Audax England, Ecosse etc, I wrote Audax Darleaux* on the back of my council-issue hi vis for PBP. It was a really shoddy job in marker pen.

It's a joke guaranteed to be understood by, ooh, tens of people.

*after checking that "Darleaux" didn't translate into something vile in French

D'you think lantern rouge might be interested in a helper ride?

I've already booked him to ride it on the Saturday before! He might want to ride it again, you'll have to ask.

In other news, I'll be checking out the pub at Appleton Wiske on Sunday. Important research.

I've booked my train ticket - all set for an afternoon of beer at the Old Peculier Control of the Peculier Old 200 Audax.

Precise control times will be known to Deano, but I'm guesstimating 12noon to 5pm at Masham. Arrive early for a neatly stamped brevet card.

:)

:like:

That's even more niche humour than the "Rupha" thread.

We took the opportunity last week to check the facilities at Masham...

Entries are still coming in steadily, but plenty of room for more.

Entered and looking forward to the visit north. I trust the sunshine in the poster and the picture above will be present on the day.

I haven't entered this, but it has just appeared in my calendar, under the list of rides I've entered.  How peculiar.  Any reason?

Without knowing your real name, I can't really help :) But did you add it to your calendar as a ride you're interested in? That can create an entry  on the start list.

Pretty sure I didn't add it as one I'm interested in (it being on a weekend I'm busy & a long way from home).  I go by the name: Ed Holt.

Well, you're not on my start list so I wouldn't worry about it (but there's still time to enter ;))

Blimey Dean, I might need two pints of OP to stave off dehydration!

It's too early to go looking at weather forecasts, Chris.

It's never too early to look at weather forecasts, Dean.

Wow, you're staying at the Premier Inn?! That's also the finish (well, the Beefeater attached to it) - you can get hammered and roll straight into bed afters ;D

I'm around Darlo on Friday - PM me if you fancy a pint, as I should have time, and I might enlist your help in sticking labels onto brevets...

Dare you to wear your Black Sheep jersey and try to get into the White Bear.

Let me know (by PM or email) if you do want a jersey - I've asked Foska and they say they're happy to offer a discount code on either of the Theakstons jerseys, as long as I promote the jerseys to riders en masse. I'd be fine with doing this if there's some interest.
