Only time you could see him all race. Good show by GB being up there with a creditable 5th.

He must have been desperate for that without anything to show from the TdF or monuments.  Truly excellent riding!

There's now some video of the last 4 km.

If that doesn't contain any wheelies, I'm not watching it.

No wheelies today I'm afraid.

It's really impressive  how different each of Sagan's worlds wins have been.

2015) Wins on his own after attacking a few km out
2016) Beat Cav and the rest in a bunch sprint
2017) Beats Kristoff in a sprint from a largish reduced group

Now he just needs to add a Gilbert-style 100 km solo attack, plus a cat & mouse game with another escapee rider as the bunch charge down their tails, and he'll have the complete set.

Very true Karla.

I was just looking up his 2015 win and found this marvellous piece of hindsight/analysis:

Even the decision to make an attack rather sit back and wait for the sprint was a bold one that paid off handsomely. His run of second and third places at the Tour often came from finishing behind faster sprinters, and the odds would have been against him in a bunch finish against the likes of Alexander Kristoff and Michael Matthews
