Looks better than what i got last night. Me and Mrs C. had a date night last night and went for Thai in Maldon. They've reecently changed chef's and it showed. Took 45 mins for our starters to appear and we were there for over 2 hours. The waiting staff spent most of the time in the kitchen helping out. Food was pretty substandard as well. Apparently potatoes in veg curry is a no no according to Mrs.C. Shame as it used to be really good. :-\

Oh dear, that's a shame.  The Thai (Thai Cottage?) in Witham is pretty good and has the added bonus that you can cross the road to Tommy Tucker's for a kebab if you're still hungry.  We went to the Thai about 6 weeks ago and it was ace.

Whilst I was gagging for a curry last night and enjoyed our food (plus the company and the ride naturally, although could have done without the rain on the way home) I always forget that I find Indian grub quite indigestible.  I'll spare you all the details  ;D  Personally me and my guts prefer Thai grub.

I'm off for a spin this Sunday morning riding this route.

There's been some talk on the Witham Cycling Facebook page of meeting up for rides so I've said I'll wait outside Maltings Academy (Spinks Lane) at 0730hrs and see who turns up.  I was also planning on stopping at Specialties in Stisted for coffee and a bun.

If anyone fancies it feel free to come along.

Unless it's a Thai Massaman or Yellow curry, in which case it's practically compulsory.

Concerning next Tuesday's proposed ride (standard forward planning disclaimers apply) - I will not now be attending the Tuesday-is-the-new-Wednesday ride on account of being dragged kicking and screaming back to Amsterdam next week.

Its quite straightforward, do try and keep up.  Huggy can't make next Wednesday but can make Tuesday evening.  Tuesday evening is better for me.  So next week's ride will be on a Tuesday ... not Wednesday. Of course if some people wanted to ride on Wednesday that's fine.  Or ride both evenings.

I hope you were paying attention.  I shall be asking questions later.

This is on account of Mrs H booking her pricking with a huge needle on Wendesday and still requiring chauffuering to/from work.

Wowbagger's leading a ride from Marks Tey on Sunday heading up to Groton. I'm planning to meet them (coming straight after church from Colchester). You could say hello too!

Why do I find this a confusing juxtaposition of posts?

It reminds me of Mrs. Wow's Northern relatives.

So it looks like its just Withamites, possibly just me and Huggy. Therefore I propose TMNH, Wickham Bishops ascent and the Green Man, Little Braxted from where its practically downhill all the way home!

Here's a plan ...

Me and Huggy meet slippy opposite the fire station at about 7:30pm and get to the Green Man between 9 and 9:30. What do we think?

Oaky won't like it. You've used the word 'plan'. Sounds like a good'un all the same. Might see you around 9.30.

It's okay, I'm sure we'll continue to see road signs for places we've already been through... That'll keep Oaky happy!

Funny you should say that.  How about this proposed route for tonight?

7:30pm opposite the fire station?

I will be thinking of you from the land of cheese and clogs.

Are you intending to visit the Blue Boar too, or is your strange wiggle in Maldon just a routing aberration?

You also seem to have uncharacteristically not managed to route down any unsurfaced roads - are you feeling ill?

You spotted a routing aberration which has now been corrected.

There may be no unsurfaced roads in this evening's route  :smug:  but as I intimated on Sunday I've got a cunning plan brewing, which you're going to love  :demon:
