Ahead of Saturday's BBQ a polypin of Maldon Gold has been installed in my man cave.  Folks may want to bring a pint glass, I don't have loads.

There will also be soft drink options too.

It could, but it doesn't  ;D

By the way I thoroughly enjoyed last night.  My Garmin did it's own thing at one point which is why our approach to Stock was suboptimal.

I'm still trying to understand how a bike that weighs nearly 18kg, heavier still with Magic Bag Midi TM attached, goes so well and so fast on the flat.  I know I've got nothing to do with Fred's performance!

It was another cracking night.

Do you think the electric motor you had fitted to Fred helps in any way ?

That's shocking allegation!

Doors open at noon.  I would imagine that BBQing will commence from 2pm onwards.  Its an open house garden thing really so rock up when you like, stay as long as you like, do whatever you like etc

Plans were hatched for next year's escapades but it remains to be seen how many of those plans make it out of the pub...
I think a MEMWNS Peloton o n the BCM would be fantastic.

I also think OD's week long YACF member stalking tour sounds great.

And it was ideed a cracking night.

Stalking tour  ;D

Imagine if we didn't tell our fellow members we were coming!  The MEMWNS massive just turns up on their doorsteps en made in the middle of the night!  I wonder how many restraining orders we could collect in a week.

I must present my apologies for Saturday's bash. I have been led astray by Andrij or his overnight bimble along the Thames and I will be in bed whilst the rest of you are revelling. I also have a plan that Mrs. Wow and I join the SEG on Sunday, after which we are on gp duty again.

Is anybody considering riding the Shaftesbury CC rides on the 19th? I'm swaying between an ECE on the 100 or just doing the 200, probably as an ECE as well...the number of info controls is a bit.....meh

Ahead of tomorrow's bar-bee-queue those of a beer drinking persuasion will be pleased to know the Maldon Gold is clearing nicely.  The polypin is propped up on a Mark Cavendish book, I'm sure he won't mind ...

Looks like Ted is going to be a busy boy next year....... only the week before in the Hurdlemakers he volunteered a MEMWNS delegation to ride the Mersey Road 24hrs this week it's the BCM I would imagine the PBP glory has gone to his head  especially after his showboating riding 200 miles with one hand on the bar and the other on his saddle bag at the end of PBP  ::-)

Tour of Britain next.... maybe even Tour de France who knows his enthusiasm holds no boundaries

Right.

I need to give up drinking and having silly ideas or get fit.

I didn't say I was necessarily going to ride the Mersey 24hr just the Mersea 24k.

BCM might have been discussed though.

Point of order ted (actually I'd like you to change your forum name to Fluffy - as in pubes), anyhow, where was I?  Oh yes, given you've just successfully finished the PBP which involved qualifying too, I think you can accurately describe yourself as fit!

Farmer's Ales (of Blue Boar, Maldon fame) have opened Farmer's Yard which apparently is now Maldon's smallest pub. It's at 140 High Street. It'd be rude not to go!

By the way I'm not around next Wednesday.

Well wasn't that fun???  In excess of 30 people crammed into the garden of OD Towers for a fine afternoon and evening of food, drink and jolly japes.  The Current Mrs R has retired to her bed for the afternoon to recover  ;D

Now then, please be paying attention.  If you have some free time from the evening of Friday 2nd October to Sunday 4th October you might want to head over to THIS THREAD what I have loving updated.  Me and Fred are itching to go touring so I have put some thought into the Country Bumpkins weekend extravaganza in that there London town.

Please be noting these important factors:  Firstly, I have posted some thoughts to prompt discussion so please pile in with your own ideas.  Secondly, don't worry if you can't take part in the whole weekend, do the bits you can.  Thirdly, why not bring a kid or a WAG?

The MEMWNS barbecue was a great event with OD as an excellent mein host.

It was a pleasure to meet JenM and various family members of the audax legends that make up the MEMWNS peloton.  Huggy junior, in particular, did sterling work looking after Huggy senior and his decrepit fellow anciens.

DL made an imaginary appearance which seemed a lot better than some of his real ones.

I am just waiting for his 100 mile ride to appear on strava...

Cheers OD and Mrs OD

Thanks OD!

Thank you for a lovely afternoon one and all. A couple of pints of Maldon Gold and I fair whizzed home - even went the long way.

Any plans for tomorrow?

I need to drop by the Compasses to talk about the SR do soon [planned for later next month, probably], but that could be just on my route to the chosen venue.
