I'm not sure ted is living in Terling although he does own a caravan so perhaps he's turned pikey and installed it next to his office.
I was allowing time to drive back to Mersea in that 10:30 bedtime  ::-)
Unless there is a bunkhouse attached to the new office.

Bear in mind it is G&Y Fields on Friday so the shorter the better.
Is this sagely advice from afar or does it mean you're going to join us??
All things being equal, I should be joining you from my new Terling HQ
So you would like a 16 mile round trip and home in time to be warm and toasty tucked up in bed by 10:30, is that what I'm reading in to your request  :P

As OD is not joining us I am not quite so worried about the route suddenly expanding and going into COR.

I just don't want to be too late.  I'm a delicate flower.

Hi Each,

I'm up for a ride tonight, and as I'm  commuting at  present I'll meet you at the Generals Arms and keep my North Hill count down to two for the day.

For the sake of an ETA at the General's Arms for Grey Sheep, what is the Witham Peloton consensus on the gratuitous ascent of Blue Mills Hill and therefore extra kilometreage and less drinking time?
I, too, don't really want a Thursday morning return in an effort to pay forward the Friday night sleep deprivation.

If I make it out I will meet you all at the Compasses. I need to get home and get a bike that is in working order and most of them are currently in some state of morphing into summer or prep for the weekend.

Does that mean you are riding G&Y ?

I won't be out tonight, I appear to be under the weather so aiming for an early night plus not looked at bikes since the weekend and the lack of brakes on the weekend indicates I need to fettle some new pads in to at least one of them.

Still hoping for G&Y on Friday
Regards,

Joergen

I'm in favour of an early finish as I've also signed up for the G & Y (but not the Curry before) - my first overnighter so a little apprehensive about the lack of sleep.

Happy to meet on the route, or at the Compasses.

What?  Like "out" as in wearing a dress "out"?  I had no idea "out" was so complex!

I think we need a new FORWARD PLANNING officer, one that's actually going to be in the same county and indeed country when said officer dictates where ale will be cycled to and drunk.  Maybe we shall put it to the vote this evening by those actually present  ::-)

we might elect you to the role.

we might abolish the role entirely.

you will have to be there to find out which.

BTW, after the current phase of FORWARD PLANNING finishes (26 July) I was planning on giving it a rest and giving anarchy a chance.

So, back to this evening, are we going with this?
here is a proposed route that diverges from the classic a little.  If Grey Sheep is intending to intercept at the Generals Arms I guesstimate the Witham peloton will be there a bit later than usual at 8:20.
Likely to be ordering first beers at about 9:30 with this plan.

Classic 90 minute route via TMNH then, passing the General's Arms just after 8?
