So we spend the evening battling snow, ice and a horrendous headwind.

What do we get today?

Melted snow, no ice and no wind!!!

Right, I'm going to go for it, pending the commute home being ok (might stick to the main roads). Should be there around 18.10.
Did you make it onto the train?

You sped past me in the tunnel, swimming like a salmon making way against the relentless outpour of commuters.

Yes - just! Even if I did have to haul my my weighty bike up the stairs, because I didn't really have time to wait for the lift...

I rate that #3 on the most bonkers pub runs :D

If that's #3 I dread to think what the top two were like... :o

It was mildly terrifying in places. But enjoyable, in a nailbiting sort of way.

Sorry all, for going ridiculously slowly and stopping a lot and thus ensuring we all got crisps for dinner! The ice was worse than I was expecting, and I'm very bad at riding on ice (especially with the wrong tyres ::-)).

I liked the brakes. They were tuneful, not squeaky.

They weren't that bad. You should have heard tiermat's Genesis.

I'm sorry to have missed it. Particularly as I missed meeting Phanta and the others but really, when we called it around 2 o'clock, I had serious doubts about getting home . . .

It took the thick end of 3 hours to get back to that Manchester village place.

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

Of course there is.  Nothing firm yet, though, other than meet here for the usual time.

We do have a visitor this week, too.

As the wind is going to be from the east-southeast on Thursday evening we might head roughly SE, which means maybe Knayton, Borrowby or The Fox and Hounds :)

Dog and Gun, Knayton. Returning, for IZ's pleasure, via Orange View and the Fox and Hounds.

Has the snow gone yet?

I'll probably come along, as I'm not busy this Thursday. Will try not to be quite so slow as last time...

Snow gone, yes

Slow? No matter, I might be the slowest there...

Any indications on likely distance/lumpiness/COR quotient?

COR = ZERO!
Lumpy, yes it is, though not drastic (we are missing out the drag up to Upsall)
Distance, one sec I shall check.

16 miles total, 660ft climbing.

Is that ok?

Cool, Mrs T spent most of yesterday afternoon baking, so we have:

Chocolate cake
Coffee Mocha cake
Toffee bars (sort of like millionaire's shortbread without the caramel layer)
Coffee chocolate loaf cake

Note: At Bullamoor, we can either carry striaght on or hang a left then a right to go down Scholla Lane, thus going past Orange View.

Tickets booked - I'll be on the train that gets in at 18.08. I'll try not to miss the turning en-route from the station this time.

Hmm, lots of roads with "bank" in the name!

I don't think I've actually ridden up a hill so far this year. May as well make a start...

That's the idea, tossed back and forth on Tuesday night's pub crawl bike ride, we have just been doing really really flat rides for the last couple of months, more hills are needed.  Don't worry, though, there is only 660ft of climbing in total for 16 miles!

I can feel I'm coming down with cold. I'll still be there - but ride down, or hop on the train?

Hop on train, eat cake and drink coffee then go for a bike ride, sound like a plan?
