How about Darlo on Tuesday?

(I do have a spare unused open return from Darlo to York, to trim the costs a bit).

Oh... and the thought occurs that if I can nick your ticket back to York, I _might_ be able to hitch a lift as far north as NTR from tiermat, if he is collecting assorted bits-of-bike from here as may happen.... which would mean only needing to cough up for a single NTR-DAR and saving a blinking fortune.  Which, given how expensive this week has been so far, might be handy.

Is this plan a goer, then? Meet at Darlo station?

For me and (hopefully) CL, yes.

I shall drop you a text, CL, and we can sort out plans (which will probably include me getting to York for about 16:00 or so, driving back here then heading out for the 17:22 to DAR)

Sorry you can't make it, LG. You could come to the pub.

Let me know what time your train's in, t and CL. Any preference for a route? I was thinking of going to the Crown, but we don't have to.

I am easy on route and distance, it will, obviously, be down to what CL feels she can manage safely and comfortably.

I always think of this when anyone says "That's how I roll"

:)

I always think of Peter the Mad Magyar Messenger on PBP - when I asked him whether he hadn't had time to get changed into his cycling kit, as he was bashing along in a battered old wifebeater and a cut-off pair of cords, he replied "hey, that's just how I roll, man".

He was a cool dude, and thoroughly annoying after about twenty minutes.

COR to excess probably best avoided, Crown always good....

I've even charged some batteries for my lights.  Probably ought to try to dig my bike out from underneath everything, mind...

Probably a good idea.

I have not been able to get a bike booking on the 23:whatever, so shall chance it, if no-go I shall have to ride home...

Truth be told, me neither, but hey, the option is there! At least for me it is...

Also that is why I am aiming for us getting the 17:22 to DAR, gives us more time.

A diversion on the way due to a landslip - it wasn't as impressive as it sounds or, indeed, as the fencing-off led one to expect - I was hoping for a yawning chasm to the very depths of the underworld really... "Race on" with two tiddlers enjoying the resulting road closure on their teeny tiny bikes-with-stabilisers. The Crown, at Manfield, which of course means _no_ chips. But excellent beer, and soup, and sopped beef sarnies, and pie. Since we couldn't have stayed to the end we skipped out before the quiz, to the great glee of the team that had been avariciously eyeing up our prime table, and headed back to Darlo (via a very closed roundabout with cheerful friendly work-people to wave cyclists through, and a perfectly lovely 3 abreast ascent up from the bridge to the Blackwell Lane turn off as a result) for a last pint or two in The Best Pub before the TPE back. Cold enough for full finger gloves even for me, but we didn't need lights all the way to the pub. Not quite summer, but it's a start...

Being unexpectedly available tonight I might go to a gig that I quite fancy here in York (which would be the sensible and prudent and _wise_ decision) but did wonder what the plan was tonight cos I could potentially head a bit north...

I'd suggest a loop back to the Station. Or Bullamoor?
