Oh and yes, last night was grand, even with the minor off Slowcoach had whilst trying to ride his 'bent up a small kerb...

Yeah - haven't got the lifting the front wheel to bounce up the kerb technique quite polished yet (or probably rather more to the point - there's no way I'm ever going to bounce a 20" wheel up a kerb that height when the hamster bar is so far behind the front wheel and the bar just hinges up when I pull up... digression should really have been the better part of valour there). At least I didn't have far to fall and there was no way I was going to feel it because the side of me that hit the deck had already been thoroughly stung by nettles - I had an interesting rash on the side of my face when I got home.

Perhaps it was a good job we didn't go down Foxton Lane after all - I can take a swim in the ford on another occasion.

Great night out - thanks Tiermat and Deano

Swimming trunks, snorkel and mask might be in order tonight! Seriously, though it looks like it will have stopped by about 4, so the roads will be dry (I am saying nothing about COR :) )

Sorry, guys, I shan't make it tonight - still knackered after last night's Melt-Banananananana gig.

It's dry in Darlo at the mo'

Shame Dean - these younguns who can't hold their beer...  ;D

It's dry here now too - though forecast isn't brilliant for tonight (interestingly though 51% chance of rain and the text is either "rain" or "showers", depending on the humidity, but 49% chance of rain equates to "cloudy". I have to nip home to pick the bike up (didn't want it sitting on the rack in the rain all day in a "high nick" status car park), but I'll be down by about 6:30 unless you reckon the rain will be so bad that it's not worth going out.

As I have (yet another) migraine on it's way, am tired and the weather is dubious I think I will cry off tonight, sorry.

Next week, deffo, though.

Once again, sorry.

No problem - lets try again for next week - Wednesday or Thursday?

This week Mrs Torslanda - she of the horned helmet and heavy metal breastplate - will be cunningly disguised as a responsible adult in charge of a pack of Beavers at Scout camp. I am therefore unavailable for cycling duties on either Weds or Thursday.

Next week should see a different situation and I may well have company . . .
VELOMANCER

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

Either Weds or Thurs (or both) is good for me as I am not working this week, due to security clearence delays.

It will have to be Thursday for me, now (had someone coming round tonight then realised it was the Tour Series in Durham tonight so I've put them off until tomorrow - I can't miss the locals having a go cos the race keeps jumping the red traffic light going the wrong way up a one way street - on a closed road...)

Anybody fancy a Darlo run tomorrow?  Someone's coming to view my house at 7pm, so I can't get to NTR for 1830, but the viewing shouldn't take long.

I've no miles in my legs this year mind, so it might need to be shorter than usual!

Now that sounds like a fantastic plan. Might you be able to make it to Manfield, do you think?

Oh, definitely!  I rode through Piercebridge a couple of weeks ago, there were a couple of nice-looking pubs there as well.  That did food.
