How do I create a track?
« on: 11 May, 2011, 08:07:26 pm »
Without riding it first, I mean.

I have a Garmin eTrex Vista Cx, (just replaced by Garmin on a £57 refurbishment deal, because of turning-itself-off-itis). I usually manage to download a track when riding Audaxes, as they seem to me to be the most reliable form of route following.

I know how to create a route. Is it possible to create a track?

Dead easy.

Plot your route on Bikehike.

Click "Download Route"

Select the file type "gpx track"

Download.

If your track is more than 500 points, the Etrex will truncate it. In that case, before you download it, click "options" and reduce the track size to 500 points.
