Garmin Etrex30 track going squiffy
« on: 26 December, 2014, 08:05:36 pm »
Does anyone know how to mend a GPX track that has gone squiffy? Yesterdays track was kindly recorded by my Etrex 30, but there is an error in it the prevents it being viewed or loaded up to Strava.  The text of the track can be viewed on notepad.  Thanks HK

Might be the header or the footer text. Compare it with another, functioning track and see if anything's got chopped off.

Looks like the footer text.  What's the best way to add in the bit that looks like it's missing?  Have made a copy to play with.

Looking at a couple of gpx tracks here the text just closes off everything at the bottom.

Dunno what variations there might be.

Thanks for the help.  Discovered what had happened.  8km from home at the Alpine for some reason the Etrex stopped recording the correct time and date - flipped back to July 2014 at 7am.  Really strange as I didn't switch the Etrex off.  Reset the Etrex to factory setting and hoping this sorts the problem.
