He passed me in the street once (identified by wife, I'm no good at any-list celebs*). He genuinely was an oompa-loompaish shade of orange.

*that's how we ended up having cocktails with Ethan Hawke.

You know how Old People mysteriously like Bruce Forsyth?  He's my generation's version of that.  His most important role was playing himself in Trainspotting.

Met him a couple of times when he worked on Beacon Radio, he did the voice work on a radio add we ran.

RIP Dale.
