Interesting idea.

My ECE rides (Brevet Cymru + 100k & Bryan Chapman + 100k) have come out looking blank (just the background colour showing). 1300k is grey, is that the intention?

Yes, 1300 should be grey, anything above 1000k is grey, I think that's the right colour designation?

Could you PM me your membership number and I'll take a look at why the ECEs aren't working for you?

Nice! That looks great!

I'm intending on developing it to do something very similar to that, probably have an 'all years' option in the year selector.

ECEs working fine for me. Tooltips seem to lose ride info text off the bottom (limited to 7 lines maybe?) if the ride name wraps beyond three lines - I've got one where ride name+ECE wraps onto four lines, partly because it was the last ride of the year so the hover box is truncated right. (#3171, 2013 if you want to check.)

Multi year display - perhaps from 20XX to 20YY as an option? Otherwise folk like me who've only been active for a couple of years would get a lot of white at the top ...

I think the ones that aren't working for simonp are 'non-standard' distances - in the cases quoted totalling 500 and 700km - and therefore maybe don't currently have a colour specified.

500k DIYs work (well,  they come up as Green, same as 400,  which is a perfectly acceptable 'feature' IMO!).

Non standard distances should work fine. It's more than likely to do with the formatting of the ride name which is where the distance info is pulled from. If I can get a link or membership number & year, either posted here or by pm then I should be able to sort it.

Put a bit of lipstick on it tonight, and it now has a new home:

http://getyourstripes.co.uk/

With the addition of the feature that you can now download your stripes as png sized for a facebook cover photo.

Note: I've not fixed any of the bugs in the rendering engine at this point and now my eyes are blurry and I can barely focus on the screen so that can wait for another day!

I now have a new FB cover pic! Thank you!  ;D

... but further digging shows that a 400+100 ECE comes up white. Just FYI !

Just looked on my phone and I think I have worked out why it's not working. I'll have it sorted when I'm next at my computer!

That's superb.

This is all a great idea - nice bit of work and an interesting representation of our odd lives.
Right! What's next?

Ooooh. That sounds like a daft idea.  I am in!

If that wasn't tragically g33ky enough, I have since caught myself planning the 2016 season (which isn't dictated by PBP and qualifers) around making the 2016 graphic as visually pleasing as possible.

Thinks-----How difficult would it be to get a local friendly printer to screenprint this onto a cycling shirt? (perhaps white or even black? )

I think that would be tricky to do for cycling shirts, should be easy enough for a normal t shirts though.

I probably need to talk to someone in AUK if we're looking at making products from them. Any idea who would be the best person to contact?

Concept copyright probably, data copyright very unlikely.

In the all years mode I get someone else's data for 2004, I guess my number was reused.

Any chance of going back further than 2004?
The AUK website only gives you points and kilometrage for 2000-2002, not a ride listing, so I'm guessing not easily. URL editing will give you stripes for 2003.

2000-2002 ride listings have now been fixed on the AUK website.  There's no equivalent data earlier than November 1999.
