Tablet HDMI cable question

Dead simple. I've got an Andoid tablet (Chinese so I won't be reading the manual) with an HDMI port and a recent 19" flat screen TV with an HDMI port. If I  buy an HDMI cable is it likely that I'll be able  to stream video/ display images from the tablet on the TV. My present knowledge stops with SCART!

100% depends on the tablet - I suggest you borrow a cable to try it.
