I have been informed that there are a few fake ps3 controllers doing the rounds, if you have one the model number will be CECHZC2H, there might be 6 screws instead of 5 holding the thing together, but not always. The best way to tell is to take it apart the insides will be sparce and usually an un branded battery, also the lettering on the label has unusual spaces in the words but again not always.. Aparently some of them are very good and work as you would expect others don't, basically if you've got it cheap and it works, well done.
