Fingers crossed, it's just a blip and you'll soon be back to your usual self, tearing off up the hills ahead of us.

My adductor and hamstring on the right hand side has become inflamed at the place where they join my ischium (sit bone). I suppose the impact of hitting the floor on my right side caused my saddle, encouraged by my left leg, to push the adductor sideways and strain it's joint with the bone, the hamstring is joined at the same place. At the same time of course my femour and all the other thigh muscles were pushing the the other way. That's my theory of what happened anyway.

Rest + ibuprofen.

Are you getting into work?

Try getting one of these to ease the tension and strain in your hip.

Getting the bus to work though I WFH'd yesterday. Walking to the bus stop is sometimes an ordeal but I believe these short walks actually did me some good last time, I just need to be careful not to over do it (which I did on Monday with going to the LGI) . I'm reasonably OK once I get into a rhythm  and if the pavement is even. Just need to take care.

Sitting is OK so long as I don't lean forward. My office chair is well shaped and supports me well

Hi Martin,

I'm the guy from Huddersfield CTC with the fractured ankle.

I've just been browsing the forum and noticed you'd had a bad fall a couple of weeks back.
I do hope you heal up fast.
It's so disconcerting coming off like that when the bike just whips from underneath you and you're on the deck before you know it.

A week after the hospital visit and 6 days after seeing my GP, 17 days after the crash I am feeling better. Day by day it's getting better, walking gets easier, rest is helping. Leaning over and standing on my bad side is impossible though standing on it whilst upright and one legged squats are OK.

Well I am slowly continuing to improve. I can walk as far as I want now and on flat level ground, when not carrying anything I am limp free and pain free. I pedaled a stationary bike for 10 minutes in the gym yesterday and did some leg curls with the bad side.  It seems to have helped.

Excellent news Mr. Nesbitt
I am trying to do the Thorne 100km Pud Burner route before the Snow Roads ride.If you wish I could pick you up,do the ride & drop you at home if you feel that such a ride would be good for you before the Snow Roads.

You could perhaps ride the 100km with us lesser mortals?

it's not fitness I am worried about, it's my availability as I said before. I hope to do the Wiggy 300 in May, and still not ruled out Severn Across in two weeks time though I think I am going to have to.

OK. I have abandoned the idea of Severn Across and Wiggy 300. I did 50 hilly kilometres yesterday and it wasn't pain free but was bearable. I suffered no ill effects today so no more damage done. At one point in the last week or two I though I was going to have to return to the doctors but now things are looking better. I think the cycling, both on the road and in the gym, is helping. Sitting on a saddle is getting easier.

So I am targetting ECE+Wiggy 100 and before that hilly 100km to trial the AAA by GPS.

Sounds like a plan  ;)

I bet you're back on form for the high summer Mr Nesbitt, with this rate of progress

and I did 25 hilly miles last night and some weight lifting today

110 hilly kilometres (~2000m ascent), pain was less and managable.
