Anyone see the trailer tents that were being exhibited at Cycle this year?  I was somewhat tempted - but Mr R would have killed me if I'd come home with one.

The cycle tents were excellent - i think the 2 man one was pushing it. though.

Oh come on, you can't be serious?  Those trailer bed/tent things at the cycle show were a solution to a problem that doesn't exist!

Heavy, expensive and awkward, I can't possibly imagine a scenario where for the money or the weight, you'd not be better off with a good tent and a decent camping mattress.

I think the stallholder saw me laughing at some point and got a bit annoyed...

true but i liked the idea of sleeping off the ground. granted it was a tad heavy compared to a light weight tent set-up.

i think comes from an Australian market rather than europe.

If I were in Australia, I'd be tempted by a camp bed above ground...

Intriguing subject! Love the idea but would hate to pull all that weight  myself. Seem like many of these rather unpractical idea's had a following after WW2 when traveling by bike were the norm!

The Speedlobster (http://www.speedlobster.de/) is a bit more up to date, but what the advantage is over a separate tent eludes me... ???

Tony Hoar of Tony’s Trailer (http://www.tonystrailers.com/mobileshelter/) has developed one specifically as a shelter solution for homeless witch to me seem like a better purpose!
