A fly helping itself to a dead fly which had met its end in a spider's web

What impressed me about these 2 is that they managed to fly away without disengaging. The foot-high club.

Plenty of these chaps about this morning

and an evil-looking scorpion fly

This little chap lives just behind the monitor. This particular meal took a couple of hours to give up the ghost.
There's no vibrations, but wait.

I think that's a lovely shot.

Nice snap, Pingu. I like the way the flower is largely in focus too. What aperture etc did you use?

I noticed this beetle last week and thought it interesting for the bright blue detailing.

Nowhere near as good as the others on here but, one from my first bug photo shoot-

Loaded with pollen.

As I was getting in close, I kept hearing what I thought was angry buzzing from a neighbouring bush. It turned out to be my model. As it started to gather the pollen/ nectar it folded its wings tight on its back like in Pingus image and the wings shimmered and buzzed quite sharply for a second. I think it is Bumble Bee ecstasy at finding stuff ;D

Bees are a bugger. That's why I prefer ladybirds.  :)

There is a bug here somewhere, but I was really taking a photo of the flower, but I don't think there's a flowers thread.

Not a photo for artistic merit, but a 'What the hell is it?' shot:

Included matchbox for scale. The spider was absolutely flat against the wall.

 ??? ??? ???
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is...

Have you got another photo with the matchbox next to something for scale?  :P

That thing's f*cking horrible.
