Not sure how this works out. Minus numbers for some starts and a total of available places that is considerably less than the seemingly available slots....

The system doesn't seem to reject people changing places to a full slot. So if you e.g. load the form before the slot is full, it'll let you and everyone else save. Although -29 in one slot suggests some skullduggery...

The totals seem to add up to the available places though, if you account for the negatives.

Still at 19:15 (-31 places)... riding partner is at 18:45 (-8 places) next best option is to both move to 20:30 ... hummm.
Guess I'll just have to ride a bit faster.

Unless you're on a tandem, just don't try too hard to ride together?  There will be 6000 other people to ride with, most of whom are interesting and many of whom share a common language — it's part of the joy of the experience of PBP
Lockdown lethargy. RRTY: wot's that? Can't remember if I'm on #8 or #9 ...

Managed to shift from 2100 to 1930 - I'm a touch resentful of the 2241 seconds the email took to get to me!

3 places left in the 2000 group, and I don't think they'll last long.

I wasn't awake at 22:59 Thursday night when the email was sent (it took 1800 seconds to get to me :))

I missed the email in my inbox on Friday, somehow!

I see that people looking at it Friday morning were out of luck, so doesn't matter.  Glad it helped some of you though!

From the website:-

Due to a considerable number of abandoned pre-registrations (1500), opening of registrations to everybody (with qualifying BRM) until July, 3rd.

Date   Time limit   Remaining places
18/08   80h00   127
18/08   90h00   633
19/08   84h00   243

With a day to go:
Départ    Délai    Places restantes
18/08    80h00    21
18/08    90h00    152
19/08    84h00    146

About 700 riders have seized a start having not ridden (one assumes) any BRM last year (or whose admin was poor in Jan/Feb). Most late entrant 90 hour riders will be in the last few Sunday evening starts. It will be interesting to see whether the performance of this cohort is at significant variance with others.
