Bike Events. Anybody remember them? They used to run supported rides. Originally run by John Potter of John's Bikes in Bath, they were sold on as a separate business. I haven't thought about them for years, but I've just come across a folder containing the route sheets and details for their Bordeaux-Barcelona ride, which I did with a couple of mates in 1990(? possibly 89). I did it again about 10 years or so later, which was the last time they ran that ride. I think it may have been around about then that they stopped trading. My first ride with them was the JoGLE in 84, when they had the National Theatre of Bath performing surreal antics and generally creating a party atmosphere along the way. Happy days... It strikes me that there must be other veterans of those rides here?

Bike Tours / Events were formative in my cycling. They were fun, sometimes a bit chaotic but they looked after you. Tours I have been on:
198? - Cherbourg - Loire - Cherbourg
198? - Loire to Cherbourg?
1988 - London - Skye
1989 - Bordeaux - Barcelona
1991 - Lands End - York (part LEJog)
1991 - Crackow - Budapest
1992 - Tour of Tuscany
2001 - Paris - Bordeaux
2003 - Ravenna - Rome

That's in impressive list Jen. I also did a London to York ride that I think they organised, not sure of the year.
