Upcoming hollywood movies

For sheer incredible pointlessness, I give you 'Battleships'.

Based on the Battleships game. The one we played as kids, where you call out a grid co-ord and the other person says 'hit' or 'miss'. Yup, they've made it into a movie.
I think the uk needs to follow this one up. Ealing studios, now is your time - 'Poohsticks, the movie'.

"A bridge over a swirling river. Two innocent children. Imminent collapse!  Can they be saved?"

That sort of thing?

Sort of.  maybe the tension could be ramped up by having a pet grasshopper fall in just as one child releases their stick. Grasshopper climbs onto stick, fighting off the terrible toad.  Flashbacks to when grasshopper is taught the secret of the floating backkick by the aged and wizened mayfly.

But seriously. Battleships. The movie.

I think there is a plot device where the aliens shut down the battleship's targetting system. the hero races around the 'battlefield' in a RIB, radioing back to the battleship "That's a miss. Two squares up."

Something like that.

There's precedent ...

Clue actually isn't too bad a movie, but claiming that it's based upon Monopoly (English for "Clue") seems a little pointless.  It's a light-hearted murder mystery, and would work as well without the various allusions to Monopoly.
Actually, it is rocket science.

"Ring of Roses"

The West's Intelligence Agencies are thrown into panic by reports of a fiendish terrorist plot to wage biological warfare in towns and cities accross the globe.

Well placed sources provide information about fledgling terrorist cells inserted into communities ready for "The Day of the Roses"

Special Forces units then start training in how to eliminate groups of young people gathering in circles, holding hands and singing, for this is the mechanism of release.

Can Western Govenments act in time to save the world from these WOMD?

I believe that Rihanna (a popular singer) is one of the "stars" in Battleships. Possibly as the world-weary Chief Engineer with an attitude, a foul mouth, and an adjustable wrench tucked down her shirt. Or possibly not.

I'm not sure that'll work.  But it's inspired me to write a screenplay for Frogger: The Movie   ;D

It might be good you never know. Like a nautical adaptation of The Seventh Seal.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

For a series guaranteed to exceed a trilogy. Connect.

Don't worry, it ends at Connect 4.
