The satellites don't know the location of the receiver.
There's no data sent back up from the receiver to the satellites; it's all one-way timing info broadcast from the satellites to all the receivers that can see it, each receiver then calculates it's location based on the timing data from multiple satellites. Only the receiver knows it's location ( and anyone it passes the location on to in the case of smartphones ).
FWIW, I've never bothered to enable anything other than plain old vanilla GPS.
There's not a benefit to me to outweigh the additional battery drain.
