Hi Folks,
Am thinking a single-speed Bob Jackson build.
However, where would folk look for a fully built single-speed bike?

Genesis Day One 10, if you want discs.
Genesis Flyer, for rim brakes.
Or maybe Pinnacle Dolomite, discs and an eccentric BB.

Not anymore but they do sell very cheap conversion kits and tensioners.

Yeah, I previously had a day one - sold it and got a day one with hub gears - regretted this.

Don't assume the chainline will be good on a pre-built SS or fixie. It's often dreadful, even if the frame is straight. My Fuji Track was about 5mm off due simply to mismatched components. The makers don't really care as long as it looks good enough to sell, and most buyers don't check.

If you want to avoid the mass-market Taiwanese stuff out there, maybe Temple Cycles or Tokyo Bikes. Depends how hipster you want to go!

Temple's not a bad shout and certainly a lot cheaper than a Condor Tempo. I know when I looked at them I was a bit put off that they had a std frame which was used across road bikes and ss/fixed so it has what look like track ends with a mech hanger and it also has all the braze ons for gear cables. Also the rear hub is spaced at 130mm which isn't a big issue but it does limit hub choices in the future (in theory you can space them out but often the rear axles aren't long enough to do this and have enough thread to safely clamp the wheel).
For an off the shelf buy where money isn't an issue I'd go with the Tempo (I have one I got second hand and very pleased with it).
For a more cost effective option I'd go with the Genesis Flyer or a Temple.
There's also the Dolan FXE which takes guards and I think a rack as well.

It could have been such a good bike if they just put mudguard bosses on the fork. It's even more bizarre as they have them on the rear.

It's bizzare isn't it, I remember looking at one and it ticking a lot of boxes but for this I might have bought one.
