great ride, thanks to Mark for coming back while I dealt with a pothole induced flat.

Nice full moon and dry weather and an improved route over last year. Lots of friendly riders.

A little drowsy at 4am, but perfectly comfortable one the sun came up.

Thames path between albert bridge and wandsworth instead of the roads, traffic free, few people and views of the river
avoid swiss cottage one way system
might have been other changes I didn't notice.

Just like last year the Greenwich foot tunnel lifts were fixed in time for the event, despite previous announcements of being closed. Obviously Mark knows the right people who can get things done.

I heard a different review of the canal path and how easy it would have been for someone to go in.

different paths
The Limehouse Cut - quite narrow, uneven and with no edge protection.

The Thames path - wide, smooth and with an adequate fence.

not the same at all.

What do you mean different paths? This was a comment on the path used during the actual lockdown rideon Fri night, made by a rider who was there. Unless you mean there were multiple such paths used and they might have been referring to the one in your link.

I think the Limehouse path was fine, yes it is not incredibly wide, but at that time there were not pedestrians to try an avoid which would require any swerving. Would I suggest it for a daytime ride maybe not, for anyone taking on a night ride in London I think it was perfectly OK. But obviously everyone feels different.

The ride went next to the Thames at the beginning and next to the Limehouse cut near the middle, in my first comment I was talking about the Thames path, then you replied that someone felt it would have been easy to go in. they would definitely have been the limehouse cut, not the Thames path.

last year I stumbled on a bump getting on to the wooden walkway section, I could easily have gone in.
