Goatpebble's silly Alpine supper

Please forgive me, but this is so good!

New potatoes, of modest size, cut in half, and roasted.

Still sizzling, onto a big white plate, shavings of melty high pasture stuff, and Bavarian wild boar ham, peasanty proscuitto sort of thing, lightly smoked.

Yum yum yum...

No, it's not. It's roast potato with shavings of cheese and air dried ham.

If I had some Reblochon, or similar, and bacon, I would have made tartiflette.  The wild boar ham was far too good to use in a cooked dish.

Now look what you've done. I have just convinced myself that I should have tartiflette for supper.

Mmmmm...add some goats cheese for tartichevre.

Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

I often make Rösti with goat cheese in the middle, and with bacon or speck.

The belt of fat around my middle has forced a rethink, and sadly meat is now off the menu. The boar ham was a brief interlude. It's fairly low in fat, so it might be something I will occasionally indulge in.
