Fortunately we picked the bright day between two very wet ones and had a great ride, It was much more lumpy than it looked on the map, and all the more enjoyable for it.
Excellent surfaces and the sort of rolling terrain you can workup a good rhythm.
High spots were...3 crossings of river Trent approaching flood level....roller coaster ride through Needwood Forest.....big climb after Lower Tean(if you are a masochist), and the spread laid on by Mrs Horne at the finish
