OK, so who is interested and what weekends are best for you please?

Decided to go for 10th to 12th May 2013.

Saturday social ride to Canons Ashby for lunch and Naomi's for afternoon tea.

Camping space for upto 40 tents, caravans and campervans also welcone, six pubs in the village, greasy spoon cafe 1 mile distant for breakfast, and, if last year is anything to go by, lots of really good company.

Note: No onsite showers - community centre with showers available approximately 2 miles away.

I can't commit to this as our second grand-child will be cooked around then. I might be a last-minute canicome but that's the best I can offer I'm afraid.

I would prefer 10th -12th as that would be a short w/e when I would normally stay in Brum.
Go with whatever the consensus turns out to be.

As there seems to be no strong opinion, and, avoiding clashes with local audax* and Ecosse camping events, I'll go for the 10th - 12th May.

I am also prepared to consider a shorter picnic ride on the Saturday to Draycote Water if folk express a preference.

* Though personally I have decided not to join AUK and give them more of my money - a decision based entirely on my perception of the views of a few vociferous crusty old conservatives towards those of us for whom 100k represents a challenge.

Friday evening is also a highlight given that the local fish and chip van visits and the landlord of the Green Man, the pub we camp behind is very accommodating of folk eating their fish supper in the pub. I am sure that attendees from lat year will attest to how good the food and beer was.

Things may change, but the Two Boats and the Duck on the Pond were both distinctly average the last time I spent a weekend there the weekend the olympics started.

The Green Man was, however, excellent. The chip van arrangement works very nicely.
