Title: External Bearing Threaded BSA BB Crank Options
Post by: D.A.L.E. on 17 April, 2020, 06:16:34 pm
What's out there? Anyone running a Shimano road crank with any success?

Please keep this thread free of sealed cartridge cranks or feckin' GXP.

I’ve not used Shimano.

I have SRAM Omnium (installed with the provided BB) on 2 bikes and a Miche Pistard Air (coupled with a blingy Hope BB) on my race bike.  The Audax bike had a similar Sugino unit but I ruined the left crank in just over a year.

I've just replaced a shimano 600 Biopace chainset with a dura-ace BSA BB and a modern 105 chainset.

Wow.  Biopace.  How long has that been knocking round the shed ?

I last rode it outdoors doing my Normandy 400 pre-reg for 2015 PBP. Since then it's done turbo service but the BB was such a bugger to service I decided to upgrade. The Rourke frame it was on I had made to measure in 1989.
