Title: Zipped files - making changes (related to Joomla!)
Post by: robgul on 16 September, 2011, 08:26:12 am
Bear with me here ...

I have a .zip file that comprises several directories and lots of files (I did not create the zip, it's a download for a Joomla! template - you just upload it to Joomla! and it creates a template to use)

Now, I want to change a few of the colours in the graphics files in the zip file

My question : if I just open the zip file (not "extract" it) then open, amend and save a graphics file will it all zip back together and upload like the original?
[I can make the amends in the Joomla! template when it's online, but I want to use the same template for 7 sites and am trying to avoid making 7 lots of changes each in about 12 graphics files]

I realise the answer is to try it with my test Joomla! site, but I wondered if I was missing something?

Thanks

Rob

WinZip lets you edit a file and save it in the archive in place of the original
