Where do you store your Brompton/Folding bike?
« on: 05 December, 2011, 09:06:04 am »
Because they fold up quite small where do people store them when not in use?

I will start, here are ours that live on top of the freezer.

In the inexcusable* cupboard under the stairs, next to a red bag marked "Panic" that contains the Forest of Dean Emergency Plan

*described thus on our shiny new Part P certificate that arrived today. I think the electrician meant "inaccessible" :)

Not sure I want to use a flash to light up the cupboard under my stairs.  Ignorance of the monsters in there is bliss!  I just poke my hand in and pull out a Brompton.

The Volio household has a bugout bag?  What's in it?  Machete and Very pistol? Puritabs and a twelve gauge?  Canned food and shotgun shells?

Cupboard under the stairs here, too.  Though it's a BSO with extra-low frankengearing rather than a Brompton.  Well, it was last time I used it.  Which was a while ago.  Maybe I should go and check it hasn't turned into a Brompton while I wasn't looking?

ETA:

Nope, still not a Brompton  :(

Epic - Port and Starboard Bromptons facing the right way round!

Mine lives, unfolded but with back wheel flipped under, in the garage, with all the rest of the fleet.  On rare occasions where I'm making an early start, I fold it up and put it in the hallway, so as not to have to open the garage at silly o'clock, and disturb the neighbours.

Our Brommies stay in the bike room, along with the tandems and most of our other bikes. A couple of bikes are kept in the spare bedroom. My B is kept folded inside at work.

That's well worth five-hundred pounds, eh?  They must think Brompton owners are rich.  Well, you might have been rich BEFORE you bought the bike.

I'm quite worried the Volios have bugout plans, as mine consist of making my way to Volio Acres! :o   Just leave a key behind the shed in the shed, please. ;)

On the North Yorks Christmas Ride to Somewhere Random & BackTM I noticed that York station has its own bike shop, Cycle Heaven.

This emporium has NINE (count 'em!) Brompton shelves, each one with a different model in it!

I looked in thru' the window whilst wheeling my comedy full bounce bike past but decided against browsing cos I couldn't afford it . . .
