Paging Kim et al - 18650 cells
« on: 28 December, 2019, 09:16:03 pm »
One of the downsides of the modern marketplace is that I have no idea where I can buy reliable, not faked 18650 cells.

Anyone know of a reliable supplier?

Cheers

Mike

Torchy the battery boy

Also consider this USB-charged version (3400 mAh or 2600 mAh)

Very timely.  I've just bought a cheapo Cree head torch for dog walking over the fields (and far away).  Its light is very good and just the job but at £7.99 delivered I doubt that the 2 18650 batteries will be up to much, or for long!

I'm not a big user of 18650 cells, but if I really wanted one I knew I could trust, I'd buy it from the likes of RS, Farnell, CPC, Rapid et al for £££

More likely I'd find out what the cool kids were using by starting a thread such as this and give it a bit of capacity testing.

Finding someone to send them to you might be an issue, and if there is a problem with the cell how do you send them back as you can't send li ion batteries through the post.
