Generic tubing feet for trainer? 40mm tubes - Elite Supercrono
« on: 23 January, 2022, 05:10:20 pm »
The feet on my Elite Supercrono Power Fluid Elastogel trainer are beginning to break up. I can't find any dealer with spares (in fact, no-one, Elite included, has even answered my enquiries). The ones of interest are part-way round the frame, so a generic "saddle foot" that springs on to a tube would probably do the job. Lots of furniture suppliers have that kind of thing, but I can't find anyone selling saddle feet for tubes as large as 40mm. That's not remarkably large for home trainer equipment and the like. Any suggestions?

Or cut up an old tyre, and zip tie it on.

Thanks all. Phil's caps are for the ends - I may need those in future, but not at the moment. CarlF's feet require fixing - my trainer doesn't have fittings for that, but could be worth trying whether I can tap it I suppose. The saddle feet that I've seen for smaller tubes wrap around the tube more and would hopefully stay in place anyway. Lissotriton's idea may work perhaps - and I may need to try it if I can't find anything else!

I'd have thought simple self-tapping screws would work, since the base looks like thin-walled steel tubing.  Or if you don't want to drill the tubes, drill horizontal holes through the feet and strap them on with cable ties.
