See the Stonehenge route in RWGPS Event. From the byway you turn left where the old road was, now bridleway, to the A303, cross and use adjacent path to Stonehenge Rd (Old Amesbury Rd) back to the route in Amesbury (or from West Amesbury follow the valley road through the Woodfords).

Cheers Will - missed that

What a night/day! Very challenging conditions overnight to stay warm but super thankful for the lack of wind and rain. Cycling by moonlight feels like what this Audax is all about so it was incredible to get that opportunity. We left in the last group, cars were iced over by the time we got to Bath. Descended in to beard icicles, frozen front mechs and water bottles from there. Successful 20 minute nap in a plastic chair at the scout hut, sent us on to go through some dark places around 180km in. Pushed through to the services and things felt better from there.

Great to ride with lots of new faces and many many many thanks to Will and all the volunteers for running such a tight ship - death by cake at Salisbury and a very swift jacket potato at Lilliput were very much needed.

Echoing the thanks to Will and the volunteers, so friendly when dealing with audax zombies at 3 a.m. Definitely made the whole experience a lot more enjoyable. The breakfast in the scout hut was an absolute game changer!

The leg between the scout hut and Podimore was a tough bit. Fortunate enough to get a lovely sunrise which lifted the spirits nicely.

Surprised at frozen front mechs. Was it not dry?

Id cleaned my bike the morning of the ride and the outer housings not well sealed for the front mech, so I think it's most likely that water in the housing froze and prevented the cable from moving. It freed up again once the bike had been sat in the sun for half an hour...

There’s luggage but this isn’t touring; there’s sleeping on the floor but this isn’t bikepacking. There’s a time limit but this isn’t a sportive; there are awards but this isn’t a race. This is audax, a discipline as old as the hills, one on which early editions of the Tour de France were based, where riders traversed huge distances on two wheels with little more than a checkpoint map and their wits.

Ah, I just started a new thread about this - thought it deserved a thread of its own.  :)
