Oh good. We've got to wait until Brixton on the 10th.

Well, it should have been The Skints at the Marble Factory in Bristol, but when we got there it was shut with nobody around.

I checked the ticket seller sites and no mention of anything. Eventually I found a post on their fb page saying they'd got covid and had postponed 5 gigs.

Had a nice curry instead. Bit farty this morning.

We've just been to see PSB at the Music Hall in Furrybootoon. They were good. The audience seemed quite excited to be out. Someone had to be shown the door.
Despite the mandatory mask policy the standing area was >80% maskless. And they fucking talked the whole way through the quiet bits

Reminded me of one of the reasons we went abroad for gigs before the Event.

Thursday night, at Starr Records in Belfast, saw Sister Ghost* launch their EP, Stay Spooky. Available to stream on Spotify, or buy/stream on Bandcamp.

*Declaration of interest, the bassist is my daughter.
What's this bottom line for anyway?

When I saw them at Exeter a couple of weeks ago I was one of only about four who was wearing a mask.

Saw the mesmerising Jane Weaver at Village Underground in London's trendy Shoreditch last week. She played for the best part of 2 hours with hardly a break - just a brief bit of chat between a couple of songs. Did pretty much everything off the latest album, Flock, plus some favourites from Modern Kosmology (but not The Architect, despite some bloke in the crowd - not me - calling out for it a couple of times) and finished the set on an absolutely barnstorming, krautrocktastic version of I Need A Connection, before coming back on to do an encore of a new song called Don't Tell Me I'm Wrong, which is a proper banger. Really very good indeed.

Appropriately enough for London's trendy Shoreditch, the support act was Hyperdawn, an electronic duo (East European girl, Manc boy with full hipster beard) who did some fun stuff with modulated analogue synths and live tape looping. They were great too.

Obligatory terrible iPhone pic:

Terry and Gerry at the 100 club just now. That's turista OTP. Storming set of cowpunk skiffle.

I saw Billy Bragg at Rock City in Nottingham on Friday. Great gig. I don’t know why I’ve never owned any of his music or been to one of his gigs before.

Mr Bragg remains the only performing artiste who has managed to get Miss von Brandenburg to sing along at a live show.  My jaw hit the front of the stage when she started belting out “Levi Stubbs' Tears”  :D
