Saw the mesmerising Jane Weaver at Village Underground in London's trendy Shoreditch last week. She played for the best part of 2 hours with hardly a break - just a brief bit of chat between a couple of songs. Did pretty much everything off the latest album, Flock, plus some favourites from Modern Kosmology (but not The Architect, despite some bloke in the crowd - not me - calling out for it a couple of times) and finished the set on an absolutely barnstorming, krautrocktastic version of I Need A Connection, before coming back on to do an encore of a new song called Don't Tell Me I'm Wrong, which is a proper banger. Really very good indeed.
Appropriately enough for London's trendy Shoreditch, the support act was Hyperdawn, an electronic duo (East European girl, Manc boy with full hipster beard) who did some fun stuff with modulated analogue synths and live tape looping. They were great too.
