seem to be plenty about around Oakham/Rutland water, looking for somewhere for one night on tour in late august.  Any experience of those to avoid?

The only hotel I've stayed in around Rutland is Hambleton Hall (which I'd thoroughly recommend but is ridiculously expensive - I wasn't paying luckily).

Fox and Hounds, Exton has a nice atmosphere in nice village. Haven’t stayed there though.
