Our oven's broken! :-[

Can you cook a decent crumble in a microwave?

I've never tried this but would suggest dealing with fruit and crumble seperately.
Add sugar to fruit and zap.
Mix ingredients for crumble and place on top of fruit and zap for a short time.

Another variant might be to part-cook/brown crumble in a frying pan on the hob, stirring constantly.

But I've not tried that either...

I think you'd not get it browned, and there'd be a danger of the crumble going soggy.  Helly's idea of pre-browning the crumble sounds sensible to me.

Our oven grill IS still working, so that might help!

Use raisins as sponges to take up excess water and prevent sogginess.
Add some to the fruit mix before zapping.

I do know a microwave crumble recipe, although the topping isn't quite the standard crumble.

Put your fruit mixture in the bowl (won't insult you with a recipe for that) and for the topping (assuming you're feeding around 6 people), you need

5oz Jumbo Oats
2oz pecans or walnuts, chopped
4tbps sugar or sugar substitute
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
3tbsp butter or margarine (I have sometimes substituted walnut oil)
1tsp cinnamon

Mix together, put on top of the fruit, microwave for 6 to 8 minutes (depending on hardness of fruit).  Leave to cool a little before serving.
